Grow a super-fresh, plastic-free mini salad garden with Waddles Pebbleton — your turbo-swimming penguin Growimal friend.
Perfect for kids, families, eco-heroes and anyone who loves penguins, oceans and mess-free growing fun.

Meet Waddles Pebbleton

Hello friend! Waddles Pebbleton is ready to huddle up and get growing.
This Antarctic adventurer loves torpedo-style swimming, deep diving, and fishing beneath the icy waves. But heat (which melts ice) and plastic in the ocean make life tricky — and Waddles needs your help to make a positive splash.

Waddles’s super seed combo — iceberg lettuce and radish microgreens — helps you grow a real salad without the plastic that usually wraps supermarket greens.

Each GrowTub includes a personal letter from Waddles Pebbleton, inviting you to become a Habitat Hero and help replant the world — one plastic-free salad at a time.

What is a GrowTub?

GrowTubs are character-themed growing kits designed to be fun, simple and completely zero-waste. Every component is reusable, recyclable or home-compostable. When your plants outgrow the tub, nothing harmful is left behind — no plastic pots, no rubbish, no waste.

Each GrowTub features a different Growimal with seeds specially chosen to support their world and the wildlife they care about.

What’s Inside

  • Seeds
  • Peat-free soil (coir)
  • Certified home-compostable inner pot
  • Simple growing guide
  • Character pot insert
  • Celebration sticker

Everything is packed inside a beautifully illustrated cardboard GrowTub. Once your seeds are planted, you can reuse the tub in all sorts of creative ways.

What You’ll Grow: Iceberg Lettuce & Radish Microgreens

Your Super Seed Pack contains:

  • Iceberg lettuce — crisp, refreshing leaves that grow into a classic salad favourite.
  • Radish microgreens — fast-growing, colourful sprouts with a mild, peppery flavour.

This duo is chosen so that at least one plant will germinate on a windowsill all year round, with radish microgreens usually appearing first. Iceberg lettuce may grow more slowly in winter but will flourish when moved outdoors in warmer months.

Grow indoors for early leafy shoots, then keep harvesting your radish microgreens while your lettuce develops into fuller, crunchier leaves.

Why These Plants Help Penguins (and Our Oceans)

Growing your own lettuce and microgreens helps reduce plastic waste — one of the biggest threats to penguins and marine wildlife.

  • Bagged salads often come wrapped in soft plastic, which is difficult to recycle.
  • Growing at home creates zero plastic waste.
  • Eating home-grown greens helps families talk about plastic reduction and ocean protection.
  • Any leftover plant matter and the inner pot can be composted safely.

This GrowTub gives children a playful way to understand how everyday choices can protect oceans and the creatures that depend on them.

Simple Planting Steps

Your Grow Guide includes clear, child-friendly instructions. Planting a GrowTub is designed for joy, discovery and circularity — every component can be composted, recycled or reused.

  1. Add water to the soil (coir) disc.
  2. Sprinkle the radish microgreens and sow the lettuce seeds just under the surface.
  3. Wait while the seeds wake up — use the QR code to learn what’s happening under the soil.
  4. Look for shoots after a few days (microgreens) to a week (lettuce).
  5. Let your microgreens grow to the perfect height, then snip and enjoy them.
  6. Keep growing your lettuce indoors or plant it outside in warmer months.

Eco Impact

By growing just a handful of salad greens at home, children learn:

  • how plants grow
  • what microgreens are
  • why reducing plastic is important
  • how growing small amounts of food can reduce environmental harm

Compostable pots, peat-free soil and home-grown leaves all reinforce the same message: small choices can help protect natural habitats.

Why Penguins Matter

Penguins rely on clean oceans, steady ice and healthy fish populations.
Plastic pollution, warming seas and melting ice make that harder.

Growing a plastic-free salad may seem small, but it gives children an empowering way to learn:

  • what threatens ocean wildlife
  • how plastic travels through water
  • how easy it is to reduce plastic at home
  • why penguins need healthy ecosystems

Waddles believes every eco action counts — especially ones that start right on your windowsill.

How You Grow Matters

GrowTubs return to the soil with nothing wasted. Plastic pots, by contrast, can last 200–500 years and shed microplastics as they break down.

By choosing a compostable pot, you’re making habitat — not waste.
It’s a far better choice for penguins, wildlife and the planet.

Ideal as a Gift

This GrowTub is a thoughtful gift for curious kids, penguin fans, budding gardeners and anyone who wants to start growing food with zero plastic.
Great for birthdays, educational activities or as a fun family project.
